Bown, 22,
began his career at Eastbourne Borough where he came to
the attention of Stoke City, with whom he had trials with their under-21s, and
dual-registered with Metropolitan Police.
He then signed for Lewes in 2016
but his hopes of establishing himself in the first team were dashed by injury
that saw him move on to East Grinstead Town and then Horsham, via a brief spell
with Hastings United.
He spent part of the 2016/17
season on loan at Peacehaven & Telscombe and then re-joined Horsham in
October 2017.
He moved to Southern Combination
League Premier Division neighbours Horsham YMCA last season, where he bagged 34
goals during the campaign.
Manager Darren
Freeman told https://www.lewesfc.com: “Dean's goalscoring record means he
deserves a second chance. We didn't see the best of him last time he was here.
"He
got injured and it took him time to find his feet when he came back.
"He
did the right thing - he went away, got some match time, got more experience,
got fitter and it's paid off. He scored 30-odd goals last season for Horsham
YMCA and it's only right we give him another chance."
