Comfortable Home Wins for Thame & Bedford
05-12-2018 I News Headlines
Two matches in the Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central on Tuesday night and both finished as 3-1 home wins for....

....Thame United and Bedford Town respectively against the Dunstable sides.

Fifth-placed Thame moved level on points with fourth-placed Berkhamsted after seeing off AFC Dunstable at Meadow View Park.

Liam Tack put the hosts in front after 19 minutes, and just 2 minutes later, David Lynn doubled their advantage.

Nine minutes into the second period, Tom Ashworth made the points virtually safe with Thame`s third, although Tony Burnett netted a consolation 3 minutes into time added on at the end of the game.

At the New Eyrie, Bedford moved up to seventh in the table after they beat lowly Dunstable Town.

Dean Dummett got the Eagles off to a good start with a 6th minute goal.

And with 3 minutes of the first half to go, a shot from Dan Walker was deflected off the back of former Eagle, John Sonuga, and into the net.

Unfortunately, Dunstable’s Rio DaSilva was stretchered off with a suspected broken leg with 10 minutes to go, leaving the visitors with ten-men having already made their substitutions.

Five minutes into a lengthy stoppage time for DaSilva`s injury, Jermaine Osei added Bedford`s third, with Saul Williams netting a reply 2 minutes later.
