The 23-year-old, who is capable of playing at both left back and centre half, will join us on a one-year deal from July 1st.

After spells as a schoolboy at MK Dons and the now defunct Rushden & Diamonds, Pennell moved on to play for Banbury United, Wolverton Town and Dunstable Town.

It was at Dunstable that the 6’3 defender attracted the interest of Dagenham & Redbridge, then in League Two.

He signed for the club in March 2016 and went on to make a total of 47 appearances for the Daggers, scoring one goal, with his form for the East London outfit earning him an England C call up in late 2018.
