Southern Premier Central leaders Kettering Town were held to a 1-1 draw by league rivals Barwell at Latimer Park, with Dan Holman`s 9th minute opener being cancelled out by Brady Hickey`s penalty after 32 minutes.
That was how it ended after 90 minutes, to it was straight to penalties which the Poppies edged 4-3.
Another Premier Central side, Stratford Town, eased their way into the quarter-finals after penalties at a wet and miserable Loop Meadow against Division One Central hosts Didcot Town.
A Jordan Williams own goal gave the lower league side a 33rd minute lead that the same player made amends for at the right end just 4 minutes later.
As at Kettering, that was how the scoreline remained, so it was to penalties.
And on-loan Nuneaton Borough `keeper Ross Etheridge proved to be Stratford`s hero, helping them progress, thanks to a 4-2 shoot-out outcome.
Division One Central rivals Berkhamsted and Welwyn Garden City couldn`t manage a goal between them in 90 minutes, but it was Berko who kept their cool in the penalty competition, winning 4-2.
The only tie this week which produced a winner in normal time was the all-Division One South tie at The Causeway between Cinderford Town and Slimbridge.
Will Peck gave the Foresters a 6th minute lead that Craig Norman quickly doubled 3 minutes later.
Richard Greaves eventually added a third for the hosts 12 minutes into the second half, with Yeshaya Lomotey reducing the deficit 5 minutes later.
Myron Turner pulled it back to 2-3 with 14 minutes remaining, but Matt Macdonald restored Cinderford`s two-goal cushion with a minute to go.
