Highly rated 23-year-old midfielder George Green has linked up with the Pilgrims following his departure from league rivals Chester FC.

Green signed for Chester in July 2018 for an undisclosed fee from Nuneaton Borough.

He was signed by Everton from Bradford City for an initial £300,000 as a 15-year-old.

His senior debut came whilst on loan at Tranmere Rovers – scoring on his debut against AFC Wimbledon in March 2015.

Later that year, he left Everton and had spells with Oldham Athletic, Ossett Albion and then Burnley, whilst with whom he had a loan spell at Salford City back in 2017.

In February 2018, he joined Nuneaton and scored 2 goals in 14 games during an impressive spell at the back end of the 2017/18 season.

Former Warrington Town left-back Alex Whittle has, meanwhile, pledged his future to the Pilgrims to add further defensive options for manager Craig Elliott.

The 26-year-old started his career with Liverpool.

After being released from Anfield, he joined the Glenn Hoddle Academy in Spain in February 2011 and the Nike Academy for the 2011/12 season.

He was signed by Scottish Championship side Dunfermline Athletic in April 2012 and went on to make 78 appearances in a three-year spell north of the border.

In September 2015, he signed for then-National League North side AFC Fylde and moved a few miles down the coast to Southport in March 2016.

In the summer of 2016, he joined National League outfit York City and made 59 appearances before leaving for League Two side Forest Green Rovers in December 2017.

After a loan spell back at Southport towards the end of the 2017/18 season, Whittle moved to Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division side Warrington Town in September 2018.

Both players trained with the club for the first time on Saturday, increasing United's squad numbers to 16 in the process.

Boston manager Craig Elliott told http://www.bostonunited.co.uk: "I think it’s widely acknowledged that George is an incredible talent.

"He has come to this club for the right reasons to be successful. My job is to unlock this potential and to get him to grow and be the player I think he can be.

"I am really excited to be working with him this season.

"Alex is a player I have tracked for a while. He possesses all the attributes I want in my players this season with pace, enthusiasm and a will to be successful.

"He had a great year for Warrington Town last season and has shown a lot of hunger to come and be successful for Boston United".
