Newly promoted Penybont have begun their preparations by signing four new players.

Dan Summerfield, Lewis Baldwin, Matthew Harris, and Nathan Wood have joined the six players who have checked into the KYMCO Stadium.

Baldwin joins from former Welsh League Division One rivals Pontypridd Town.

He had been at Pontypridd since March after joining from Welsh Premier side Carmarthen Town.

Baldwin was part of the USW side which won the BUCS National title against Hartpury.

Harris moves from Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division South side Merthyr Town.

He previously had a loan spell with Briton Ferry Llansawel in 2017.

The 30-year-old is an attacking midfielder and began his career with Swansea City.

Summerfield joins having spent four seasons in the Midlands with clubs like Halesowen Town and Stratford Town, where he was named player of the season.

Wide player Wood arrives after making the move from Welsh League side Undy Athletic.

Former Bangor City forward Alex Darlington and youngster Jake Phillips have signed up with another newly promoted outfit, Airbus UK Broughton.

Darlington, 30, joins the Wingmakers from Maltese side Mosta, who he joined in January of this year.

An experienced player in the Welsh system, he began his career with Wrexham, however a couple of serious injuries lead to him being released by the Dragons in 2008.

From there he joined The New Saints, where he would spend nearly a decade of his career, winning a host of different trophies in his time at Park Hall.

Wrexham-born Darlington netted 96 league goals during his spell with the Oswestry outfit.

His association with the Oswestry side ended in January 2018, when it was announced that he was to link up with Bangor City.

After a year with the Nantporth side, he departed to ply his trade abroad with the side nicknamed Tar-Rotunda.

His team finished ninth in the 14-team Maltese Premier League, five points above the relegation zone.

The forward has previously been capped by the Wales under-23 semi-professional side.

The Hollingsworth Group Stadium outfit secured their return to the top-flight after two seasons in the Cymru Alliance, finishing 18 points clear at the summit.

Defender Phillips has also joined the club from fellow North Walians Connah’s Quay Nomads.

The 22-year-old was a member of the Wales C squad that travelled to face England C at Salford City’s Peninsula Stadium earlier this year and is known for his dangerous long throws.

Andy Owens and Jordan Evans have remained in the Welsh Premier by joining Airbus.

Owens joins having been released by the Connah’s Quay Nomads, whilst Evans joins from the Cefn Druids.

Former Fulham player Evans made 24 appearances for the Druids last season, scoring 4 goals.

He also featured in both legs of the Druids’ narrow Europa League defeat to Lithuanian side FK Trakai.

Owens had been at the Nomads for 18 months and was a Welsh Cup winner. During his time at Deeside, he was on target 9 times last season in 27 appearances.

The Wingmakers lost five players following their promotion.

Forward Asa Hamilton to FAW Championship side Rhyl along with Joe Chaplin, who has moved to Colwyn Bay.

Leo Riley has moved to Welsh Premier rivals Aberystwyth Town, while Lewis Buckley has moved to Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One North West side Widnes.

Barry Town United have signed former Football League player Jack Compton.

Compton joins from Vanarama National League side Chippenham Town.

The 30-year-old is the second summer arrival at the club after the Glamorgan side signed Carmarthen Town defender Luke Cummings.

The Cardiff-born winger began his career with Portsmouth as a youth player.

He had two spells with the South Coast side after signing from Falkirk. Compton later moved on to Colchester United, Hartlepool United, Yeovil Town and then Newport County, before dropping into the English non-league with Bath in 2017.

Most of his playing time in the Football League came with Hartlepool United, where he made 55 appearances.

He is a former teammate of former Barry midfielder and now Newport County manager Mike Flynn.

Compton made a total of 26 appearances for Chippenham Town last season, helping them to a 13th placed finish.

Caernarfon Town have added signed FAW Championship duo Gruff John Jones and Sam Jones.

Both arrive from Caernarfon’s Gwynedd rivals Bangor City and Porthmadog. Gruff joins from Porthmadog, whilst Sam Jones is a signing from Bangor.

Gruff returns to Caernarfon, having spent time as a youth player with the Cofis.

Nineteen-year-old Jones was prolific at youth level for Bangor, having scored over 40 goals for the under-19s side. He has since made the step up to the first team.

Mike Pearson was Caernarfon’s first signing of the summer. He arrived at The Oval from Llandudno.

Connah’s Quay Nomads have signed Newtown full-back Callum Roberts.

The Wales C international joins the Nomads as they prepare for their fourth European campaign.

The 20-year-old made 22 appearances for Newtown last season.

For his performances in the Welsh Premier League, Roberts was called up to the Wales C squad. He came on as a 93rd-minute substitute in Wales’ 2-2 draw with England.

Roberts was previously on the books of Shrewsbury Town and The New Saints.

Roberts is the third departure from Latham Park. Forward Luke Boundford left the Mid-Wales club after eight years of service at the club. In total, he scored 61 goals in 220 games.

Forward Porya Ahmadi has also left having re-joined Aberystwyth Town. Ahmadi joined the Robins from the Green & Blacks in January.

Jordan Lam has returned to Cardiff Metropolitan alongside new signing Male Davies.

Lam, 24, is back at Cyncoed Campus, having left the Students last summer to join Hereford and then Bristol Manor Farm.

He is joined by Mael Davies, who joins from fellow Welsh Premier side Carmarthen Town.

The pacey winger was an established member of Cardiff Met’s squad and was a key figure in their first season in the Welsh Premier.

His performances earned him a trial period at SkyBet League Two side Newport County.

Lam has been training with the Met since February.

Davies joins the Met having joined Carmarthen Town last season. With one year of top-flight football under his belt, he has moved to the capital to further his career.

The 20-year-old was on the books of Cardiff City up until Under-16s level. He later moved on to Swansea’s academy where he spent three years, signing his first professional contract.

A former Wales under-17 and under-19 international, Davies is a FAW Youth Cup winner with Swansea City.

Mael’s position is predominantly a centre-midfielder, however, he can also play at right-back.

The Met have also received a boost that Charlie Corsby is nearing full fitness, having trained all week. Corsby could be available for the Europa League games.

Carmarthen Town have signed Welsh League duo Elliot Scotcher and Josh Bull from Cwmbran Celtic and Haverfordwest County.

Bull and Scotcher are two of three new signings.

Llanelli Town’s Chris Jones also joined the Welsh League duo at Richmond Park.

Bull previously spent a pre-season with Welsh Premier side Aberystwyth Town, before returning to Cwmbran Celtic later in the summer.

The 25-year-old has had three spells with the Gwent club, having had a brief period with Merthyr Town.

Bull has scored over 100 goals for Cwmbran Celtic and finished the 2018/19 season as the clubs second highest goalscorer, behind Chris Ham.

Midfielder Scotcher spent last season with Haverfordwest County as they missed out on promotion to the Welsh Premier.

The former Lido midfielder made 23 appearances for the Bluebirds last season, scoring a total of three times.

Cardiff Met striker Adam Roscrow has signed a two-year deal with SkyBet League One side AFC Wimbledon.

Roscrow played for the Archers in Welsh Division Three before their meteoric rise to the JD Welsh Premier.

Roscrow, who hails from Llantwit Major, scored both Cardiff Met goals in their Nathaniel MG Cup victory over Cambrian & Clydach Vale in January, which secured the club’s first major domestic trophy in their history.

The 24-year-old also scored a memorable goal for Wales C against England C in Salford in March which caught the eye of the AFC Wimbledon scouts.
