Twenty-one-year-old becomes the fourth player to make the move from the International Stadium to Bootham Crescent so far this summer - following in the footsteps of Russell Penn, Jordan Burrow and Wes York.

Manager Martin Gray told the club`s Ian Appleyard: "Macaulay is a young, up-and-coming, centre-forward who is very quick around the box and a good finisher. He was a late starter in the game and Gateshead were desperate to keep him."

After starting his career in the Ebac Northern League with Billingham Synthonia, Langstaff joined Gateshead in February 2017.

He made five appearances last season but also spent two periods on loan at Blyth Spartans in the National League North - making his Spartans' debut against York at Croft Park in August.
