Richards began his career at Hartlepool United, signing his first pro deal in 2011, going on to spend six years with the North-East club and making over 60 appearances.

He made 15 appearances on loan at Alfreton Town before going on to join AFC Fylde in the summer of 2017.

He made 10 National League appearances for the Coasters as well as both Second Round Emirates FA Cup ties against Wigan Athletic.

He moved a few miles down the coast to join Southport, where he was a regular in the starting line-up, in January 2018.

Manager Adam Lakeland told http://www.farsleyceltic.com: “I’m delighted to have Jordan on board and I think he will prove to be an excellent addition to our squad.

“Jordan is an offensive full-back with excellent technical qualities, in particular his distribution, delivery from crosses and set plays. He brings valuable experience at this level and above which will be important for us and at 26 he is at a good age, so it ticked all the boxes we were looking for and I’m looking forward to working with him.

“Following the injury to Lewis Turner last season, who for me was the best right back in the Northern Premier League, we utilised Ben Atkinson at wing back. Ben did an excellent job, but we lost his running power from midfield.

“When the opportunity came to sign a player of Jordan’s qualities and experience, we felt we had to move and I’m sure he will enjoy being a part of the group. I feel the squad has excellent balance now as well as competition for places and I’m excited to start working with the players again as we prepare for the season ahead”.
