Attacking midfielder Nicholson started his career at now Bostik League North outfit Cambridge City before moving on to United Counties League Premier Division side Eynesbury Rovers in 2014.

He scored an average of a goal-per-game for them before moving on to Histon, then in the National League.

He was a prolific scorer for the Stutes with 14 goals in 25 matches before signing for League One club Peterborough United in December 2015.

He made two appearances for Posh before he was loaned out to Nuneaton Borough, for whom he scored 16 goals in 30 matches.

He had a brief spell back at Peterborough, before being loaned out again to Nuneaton, and this time he scored 11 goals in 27 matches.

He signed for then-League Two side Barnet on a permanent basis in January 2018 and made 8 appearances before being loaned out to another of the Bulls` league rivals, Brackley Town, in March 2018, and released at the end of the 2017/18 season when he joined the Quakers.
