Taylor joined the U`s at the start of the 2017/18 season – ironically after impressing in a pre-season friendly against the Hawks - and made 67 appearances, scoring 4 goals, and also earned international recognition with the England C side against Estonia in October 2018.

He was with Crystal Palace as a youngster and had a spell on loan at Hampton & Richmond Borough in early 2018.

He spent the second half of last season on loan with then-league rivals Maidstone United and was one of four players made available for transfer by new manager Matt Gray at the beginning of May.
