He had
spells in the United States with Storm FC and South Florida Surf before returning
to England and joined then-Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One North
side Radcliffe FC in February 2017
Metz then
attended Northumbria University and played for Northern League sides Seaham Red
Star and Newton Aycliffe before moving to Consett.
Earlier, Consett
re-signed utility player Jake Stafford from Dunston FC, where he was a member
of their Northern League title-winning side.
Stafford,
28, is a local lad who originally signed for Consett in February 2016 from
Chester-le-Street, making his debut in Colin Myers’ last game as manager, in
the 2-1 defeat at West Auckland Town in March.
A
midfielder, he showed his versatility by also playing at right-back and
centre-back.
Over the
next two seasons he made 48 appearances, scoring 2 goals – most memorably
against South Shields in a thrilling 3-3 draw at Belle View.
He left
in September 2017 for Dunston, where he won the League Cup in 2018, and the
Northern League championship last season.
Now,
after being named in the Northern League team of the season, he has moved back
to Consett for the 2019/20 season. |
