The 24-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a move to The Super 6 Stadium after playing almost 30 times for last season`s Promotion Final winners Salford City.

He joined the Ammies in June 2017.

He started out with Colchester United’s youth set-up before moving on to Bristol City.

He captained the Robins’ under-21 side during the 2013/14 season and had loan spells with Weston-super-Mare and Nuneaton Town, who were then in the Conference Premier.

After six influential appearances for Nuneaton, an injury ended Mafuta’s season but after being released by Bristol City in the summer of 2015 he signed a short-term deal with then-National League side Gateshead in September 2015.

A string of impressive performances earned a contract extension and Mafuta went on to make in excess of 60 appearances for The Heed.
