Hendy started out in the Bristol Rovers academy after joining during the under-7 phase, where he spent ten seasons, before heading north to Forest Green and linking up with their under-18 side in the summer of 2017.

During the 2017/18 season, Hendy was an unused sub three times under Mark Cooper.

In January 2019, he went out on a ‘work experience’ loan to Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division side Longlevens until the end of the season, where he made 6 appearances and scored one goal.

During his second season as a scholar at Forest Green, Hendy was named the academy players’ player for 2018/19 before completing his scholarship and linking up with the Seagulls.

Malshanskyj, in the same age group as Hendy, progressed through the Forest Green academy and into their under-18 side at the start of the 2017/18 season.

He also went out on a ‘work experience’ loan to Longlevens in January 2019, scoring 8 goals in 12 appearances.
