The new signings are Zack Newton, Jared Rance and Lea Dawson, while goalkeeper Josh James returns to the Hornets after a previous spell at the club.

A late starter who had never played competitive football until aged 16, Newton had a successful season at Worthing, scoring 11 goals in 20 games which prompted his signing for Welling United in the summer of 2018.

He has also played for Metropolitan Police and spent the early part of the 2018/19 season on loan with the Hornets and then back at Worthing, also on loan.

Dawson arrives from Bostik South East newcomers Cray Valley PM, who he joined in February 2019 after being with Ashford United since the start of the 2018/19 season, having arrived from Cray Wanderers.

And he was an unused sub for Cray Valley in last season’s Buildbase FA Vase Final at Wembley.

Dawson was the Wands skipper for three seasons and won the supporters` player of the year in 2016/17 and finished runner-up in 2017/18.

He made 134 appearances over the three seasons, scoring 20 goals as Cray made the Bostik North and Bostik South play-offs.

Rance originally made his name in Worthing`s youth team before making his senior debut at Lancing in 2013/14, ending his time there as the club’s young player of the year.

He made his first team debut in October 2014 and also played a big part in the all-conquering under-21 side of 2015/16, where he finished as the league’s top scorer.

His knack of finding the back of the net with such regularity helped East Preston secure an instant return to the top-flight of the Southern Combination League in 2016/17 and returned to Worthing in October 2017.

He left the Rebels again in January 2019 and signed for then-Bostik Premier rivals Burgess Hill Town.

James returns for a second spell having also played last season at Burgess Hill.

The keeper’s previous stay at Horsham lasted from June to October 2017, ending after he decided to take a short break from the game.
