Hall joined the Gladiators just over two-and-a-half-years ago and as a first-year student with the club`s academy saw his football skills develop and before long he was made captain.

He also played for Matlock reserves in the Central Midlands League and again was captain, seeing the club winning a Derbyshire Divisional Cup and being runners-up in a very competitive league.

He trained regularly with the first team before signing his first contract in October 2018 and made a number of appearances in the NPL Premier Division which attracted scouts from League clubs to show an interest in his capabilities.

He had trials at Leeds United followed by a two-week assessment at Sheffield United and then a decision was made and both clubs agreed to terms for him to join them once the transfer window kicked in for July.

The transfer has now been completed and Matlock will receive an undisclosed compensation payment for the development time he has spent with the club.
