Young
goalkeeper Connor Sansom joins having, along with fellow new Herns Lane team-mates
Carl Mensah and George Ironton, narrowly missed out on promotion at Tring Athletic
last season and he completes a trio of captures from the Spartan South Midlands
League runners-up of last season for new Citizens’ boss Nick Ironton.
Prior to
his spell at Tring, Connor, a distant relation of former England and Arsenal
international full-back Kenny Sansom, played very successfully for Harpenden
Town in their promotion attempt from the SSML the previous season and
previously at Step 4 level for AFC Dunstable prior to that.
He began
with his home-town club Boreham Wood and has also seen service with Potters Bar
Town.
Defender
Will McClelland returns to the Citizens for a second spell having been with
Harpenden and Codicote last season.
He
enjoyed two successful seasons at Harpenden after joining from Welwyn Garden
City and also served Langford.
Young full-back
Matt Crook joins having just finished his studies at Northumbria University in
Newcastle, where he was a regular in inter-varsity football.
He was
previously with Hertford Town.
Another
new defender is Connor Clarke, who spent most of last season with FC Broxbourne
Borough in the SSML Division One.
He was
previously with Hemel Hempstead Town, Hoddesdon Town, Maldon & Tiptree, St
Margaretsbury and Hitchin Town.
Striker
Ollie Carey arrives having been a prolific scorer for Clapton in the Essex
Senior League in recent seasons.
And
midfielder George Naismith joins after suffering relegation with Dunstable Town
last term.
He
numbers Codicote and Harpenden Town amongst his other former clubs.
