Sewell, who
left Westella & Willerby in February after five-and-a-half years at the
helm of the club that included two seasons in the NCEL, takes over in the dug-out
from player-manager Jonathan Ricardo, who will be his assistant alongside
another newcomer, Chris Burke.
Carnegie, who
finished eighteenth in their inaugural season in the league, said in a
statement from the club that chairman Dave Reader had been working hard to
bring Sewell and Burke to Dunswell Park as he "wanted someone with
previous NCEL experience to take the club to the next level."
The statement
added: "Chris and Jonny will assist Leon to ensure the club is supported
in the right areas.
"Jonny
will continue to play for the club and, whilst doing so, gain the right skills
in progressing his future within Carnegie.
"We
believe that the foundations are in place to establish the club and understood
that having a structure to build from will help push the club forward".
