Sam Grimshaw and Harry Sheridan have both checked into Shawe View.

Grimshaw, who is comfortable at either left-back or on the left-wing arrives from now Southern Premier Division Central side Hednesford Town.

He started his career with Manchester City before linking up with Altrincham, Radcliffe Borough and Glossop North End – with whom he caught the eye enough to be offered the chance to train with Manchester United in the summer of 2015.

Moves to Curzon Ashton and Stockport County followed before he linked up with Leek Town in the summer of 2016 and then to the Pitmen two summers later.

Baker told www.traffordfc.co.uk: “Sam is someone who became available a month or so back. I had an initial conversation with him in the hope that we could persuade him to come in. Where and how Sam plays was an area of the pitch where we were looking to strengthen, and he fitted the bill of what we were looking for. I’m really glad he’s decided to join us and hopefully he’ll excite our home supporters with his pace & direct play.”

Sheridan re-joins Trafford on dual registration with Motorama National League North neighbours Altrincham.

The 19-year-old defender captained Altrincham`s youth team as well as turning out for the reserves.

His first involvement with the first-team squad came in March 2018 when he was a used sub in the Cheshire Senior Cup and was named on the bench for a league match at Grantham Town the following month.

He spent a month on loan with Trafford in 2018/19.

Baker added: “We continue our fantastic relationship with Altrincham Football Club. Harry was with us for a month or so last season and we’re glad he’s come back. I feel he’s in a good place at the moment and ready to kickstart his career. I’m looking forward to working with him!”
