Shields Move for Gilchrist
Striker Jason Gilchrist has completed a permanent transfer to BetVictor Northern Premier League Premier Division club South Shields from Motorama National League North side Southport.

The 24-year-old leaves having scored 19 league goals for the Port, including hat-tricks against Tamworth and Gainsborough Trinity in the 2017/18 season.

 

He helped Stockport County to win the National League North after joining on loan in March 2019.

 

He signed for Port in November 2017 from FC United of Manchester for an undisclosed club record fee.

 

He signed for FC United following his release from Premier League side Burnley and scored 29 goals in 62 appearances for the Red Rebels.

 

Whilst on Burnley`s books he enjoyed various loan spells at Droylsden, Accrington Stanley and Chester before making the move to Broadhurst Park.

 

He has also represented England C.
