Manager Mike Cook has already added Jennison Myrie-Williams, Marlon Jackson and the season-long loan signing of goalkeeper Zach Jeacock from Birmingham City to his squad.

And now, after a successful pre-season trial period, the Tigers` boss has placed Ioan Richards, Tom Handley, Jamie Bremner, Jack Spark and James Spruce on the books.

Richards is a defender who joins the Tigers following his youth career with SkyBet League Two neighbours Cheltenham Town.

He had experience of non-League football in an 18-game loan spell with BetVictor Southern League Division One South outfit Slimbridge last season.

Handley is also a defender from Cheltenham, where he spent 10 years in the youth set up.

He spent time on loan in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division with Lydney Town last season.

Bremner is another young defender who joins City following after coming through the ranks at League One side Bristol Rovers.

He is another to have had a taste of non-League football with a loan spell at Southern Division One South side Mangotsfield United last term.

Spark is also a defender who has joined from Championship side Bristol City, where he played in their under-18 and under-23 sides.

He will be no stranger to Gloucester fans, however, as he joined the Tigers on loan at the end of last season in the National League South.

Spruce is a striker who was released by Bristol Rovers, having joined their academy back in May 2016.

He was called up to the Wales under-19 squad in September last year for games against Iceland and has been a part of the Welsh youth set up ever since.

He has had several loan spells in non-League football with the likes of Cinderford Town, Larkhall Athletic, Farnborough, Yate Town and Halesowen Town – the latter two in 2018/19.

In a joint statement from manager Mike Cook and co-chairman Alex Petheram, the pair told http://www.gloucestercityafc.com: “It’s great for these lads to come into the first team and shows that the approach we’ve developed at the club is hopefully now starting to work. James Bremner started training with us at the end of last season and Jack Spark came to us from Bristol City at the end of last season. We’re excited these lads have now joined and we’re keen to work with them developing their careers in the game.

“We’ll be looking to get the lads as much first team minutes as possible, so we might look at linking in with some other local teams to try and fast track their development”.
