Several New Crusaders
Ian Herring, manager of Motorama National League South club Hungerford Town, has agreed contracts with several new signings to give the squad a significant boost ahead of the new season.

Zidan Akers joins having ended the 2018/19 season with Southern Division One South side Thatcham Town.

 

He signed for the Kingfishers from Basingstoke Town in March 2019

 

He is a forward with electric pace who has previously played for Scottish side Hearts and Reading.

 

Midfielder Louis McGrory joins having spent last season with former league rivals Weston-super-Mare and on dual registration with BetVictor Southern League Premier Division South side Salisbury.

 

The right-back or central midfielder joined the Seagulls in the summer of 2018 following a spell with AFC Telford United and made 22 appearances before finding himself out of the squad and subsequently joining the Whites in March.

 

He started his career at Swindon Town, but at the age of 16 joined Forest Green Rovers’ academy, signing professional forms for them in 2015.

 

He had spells at Evesham United, Aldershot Town and Gloucester City.

 

Following a trial at Newport County, he joined AFC Telford before returning to Weston.

 

Defender Matt Berry-Hargreaves re-joins the Crusaders from SkyBet League One side Oxford United.

 

He originally came through the Hungerford academy, making a handful of first team appearances as a 17-year-old before joining Oxford as a scholar in the summer of 2016, progressing with the U`s to be captain of their youth team and then rewarded with a one-year professional contract on completion of his scholarship.

 

He played for Oxford’s under-23s last season but also gained experience on loan with Southern Premier Division sides AFC Rushden & Diamonds and Banbury United.

 

Kofi Halliday is a Birmingham native who can play on the wing or as an attacking midfielder.

 

He has played in Gibraltar for FC Bruno`s Magpies and in Sweden for Stenungsund with spells at Aldershot Town and Godalming Town sandwiched between.

 

He returned to England in the summer of 2017 and attended the Pick-Up Academy and spent last season with Fleet Town.

 

Forward Liam Ferdinand makes the step up from Isthmian League South Central side Bracknell Town.

 

He ended the 2018/19 season as top scorer in the division with 32 goals having re-joined the Robins in the summer of 2018 from Thatcham Town.

 

He was previously with Marlow and Binfield and represented the FA in an ambassadorial visit to the Falkland Islands in November 2018.
