The
experienced 32-year-old centre-back was released by the Clarets at the end of
the 2018/19 season after making 23 appearances and scoring one goal after joining
in December 2018, helping them to the play-offs.
However,
he was called back and impressed during pre-season, putting pen-to-paper on a
new contract at the Melbourne Stadium.
Cascaval
began his career with hometown club Academia Chişinău and went on to play for various clubs across Europe, which
has seen him play in Kazakhstan for Kaisar, Uzbekistan for Olmaliq and Neftchi
Fergana, Russia for Luch-Energiya Vladivostock, Malta with Naxxar Lions and the
Faroe Islands for Vikingur.
He has
also featured for the Moldovan national team, making his debut in 2011 against
Georgia and has 9 caps to date – the last of which came in 2017. |
