Spireites Borrow Young Canary for the Season
Young striker Anthony Spyrou has joined Motorama National League club Chesterfield on a season-long loan from Premier League new boys Norwich City.

Spyrou has come up through the youth system at Carrow Road and signed his first professional deal with the club in January 2019.

 

A native Londoner who moved to Essex, he has been playing in Norwich’s under-23s, scoring 7 goals in 15 Premier League 2 outings last season.

 

After impressing in the under-16’s as a winger, the coaching staff moved him in to the middle of the park where he has blossomed in to a fast, promising centre forward.

 

The 19-year-old has been recruited by the Spireites after training with the club and turning out in the pre-season friendlies at Hallam FC and Matlock Town.

 

After agreeing the switch from Carrow Road, Spyrou told https://www.chesterfield-fc.co.uk: "I'm delighted and I can't wait to get started. I've heard a lot of good things about the club and I feel I can make a contribution."

 

Spyrou made 3 appearances while on loan at Chesterfield`s league rivals Wrexham at the end of last season.
