Full back
Mark Ross has re-joined the Magpies from ex-National League North rivals Bradford
Park Avenue
No
stranger to Victory Park having spent a number of seasons in black and white
previously; the 30-year-old joined Avenue in August 2017 initially to play
right-back but went on to cement a spot in the heart of defence.
Prior to
joining Avenue, he spent six years at Chorley, making 252 appearances and was
part of the side that earned promotion to the then-named Conference North and
was one of the first names on the team-sheet until leaving for Stockport County
at the end of the 2016/17 season.
He
appeared in all-but one of County’s league games, wearing the captains’ armband
for the majority of them.
Another
returnee to Victory Park is Fleetwood Town central defender Lewis Baines.
The
20-year-old featured 6 times on loan last season for the Magpies over the
crucial Christmas and New Year period, and now joins permanently from the Cod
Army.
Baines signed
his first professional deal with the SkyBet League One outfit in the summer of
2017 before signing up for another two years.
He featured
once for the Cod Army first team last season, coming on a substitute in the
Checkatrade Trophy defeat at Bury.
