The 20-year-old
will provide back-up to Stuart Nelson until January 2nd, 2020.
Driscoll
hails from Perth, Australia and as a youngster played for the West Australian
State team and the West Australian State schoolboys.
He then
represented Perth Glory in 2014, rising as far as their under-18 side. However,
during 2014 he moved across to England with the goal of gaining a scholarship
with a team over there.
Reading
recruited him, providing him with a two-year scholarship deal in July 2015 and
that led to the award of a professional contract in 2017.
During
that summer, then-manager Jaap Stam invited him to join the first team squad
for a pre-season tour, and that was followed by him spending half a season on
loan with Staines Town.
He
returned to the Madejski Stadium in early 2018, playing for the under-23 side,
and that led to him being given a new contract until June 2020.
The early
part of the 2018/19 season saw him go out on loan a second time, with him
playing for National League South side Hungerford Town, making 5 appearances
between August and September 2018.
Following
the completion of that loan spell he returned to Reading, playing five times
for the under-23s and being on their bench on a further 6 occasions in Premier
League 2 fixtures.
He also
had a brief February 2019 loan spell with BetVictor Southern League Premier
Division South outfit Salisbury, for whom he played twice. |
