The Wales under-19 international needed little persuasion in joining Johnson’s side, having played against United for Swansea under-23s last week.

Johnson was delighted to have secured the deal of one of the Welsh club’s most promising and versatile young players. He told https://torquayunited.com: “We’re grateful to Swansea to allow us to loan one of their up-and-coming stars, he’s a centre-back that can also play right-back, left-back or central midfield.

“He’s looking forward to his first loan, he’s definitely our personality and character, and a very competitive footballer, so hopefully it will be a successful loan for both him, us and Swansea.

“He’s been training with us for the past few days, came to our game against Exeter and because of the game itself and the atmosphere the fans created, he was very happy to join us.”

Lewis, 19, made 3 appearances for City in the Checkatrade Trophy last season, and is eager to get down to business at Plainmoor.
