Thacker came
through the Hull City academy and was a regular in the SkyBet Championship
side`s under-23 set up before being released on expiry of his contract at the
end of the 2018/19 campaign.
Thacker
has impressed with his composure and solidity in the Reds back line during
pre-season and provides another defensive option for us within the squad.
Williams
was most recently with BetVictor Northern Premier League Division One North
West outfit Brighouse Town, where he made 13 appearances, scoring twice.
An
exciting winger, he joined Brighouse from NPL South East club Stocksbridge Park
Steels in the summer of 2018.
He had
joined Steels from the now defunct Shaw Lane AFC and has also had NPL experience
with Frickley Athletic, Goole AFC and Leek Town.
Williams caught
the eye during pre-season for his electric pace and quick feet. His combination
play and attacking quality will be another good asset for manager Billy Heath
this season.
Heath
told the club`s press officer Amar Sharma: “I’m delighted to have both lads
with us ahead of the new season following successful trials. Josh is a player
who is always learning, he’s only 19 and was released from Hull City which
would have been difficult for him after being there from an early age.
“He has
shown great strength of character and has a level head on the pitch. I love his
maturity and attitude to the game, and he has shown experience ahead of his
years. I’m pleased to have him.
“Tyler is
a player I have known about for some years now and he’s come in and done
everything we’ve expected. He has an excellent attitude and has shown great
qualities for us. He is still young and has done well through pre-season, we
are looking forward to seeing his development this season”.
