Woking
enjoyed a great 2-0 win at Dagenham & Redbridge, courtesy of Kane Ferdinand
after 8 minutes and Moussa Diarra 8 minutes into the second half, while Torquay
edged out Boreham Wood 2-1 at Plainmoor, thanks to Jamie Reid and Opi Edwards
outgunning a late reply from sub Tyrone Marsh.
The
two other promoted teams, Chorley and Stockport County, had mixed outcomes,
with the Magpies sharing a 0-0 home draw with Bromley and County losing 1-0 at
Edgeley Park in front of 4,626 to Maidenhead United, for whom Jake Cassidy was
on target 11 minutes from time.
Aldershot
Town, who earned a late reprieve from the drop, lost their opener 2-1 at the
EBB Stadium to fancied AFC Fylde, for whom Neill Byrne on the half-hour mark
and, inevitably, Danny Rowe from the penalty spot on 64 minutes, with George
Fowler replying 15 minutes from time.
FC
Halifax Town sit top of the pile after enjoying a fine 4-1 win at Stonebridge
Road against Ebbsfleet United.
Cameron
King`s 10th minute opener for the Shaymen was cancelled out by John
Goddard on 38 minutes.
But
Niall Maher, Jack Earing and an own goal from keeper Nathan Ashmore in the
final 22 minutes of the game killed off Fleet.
Sutton
United started well too, winning 3-1 at Hartlepool United with a Harry Beautyman
brace and a late Will Randall effort, with Gime Toure replying.
Dover
Athletic, quietly fancied by many, also won away, 2-1 at Chesterfield, thanks
to Josh Passley and Alfie Pavey in the last 12 minutes after Scott Boden gad
broken the deadlock to put the hosts in front 4 minutes earlier.
Wrexham
also came from being a Josh Granite goal down after 14 minutes to beat Barrow
AFC 2-1 at the Racecourse, courtesy of JJ Hooper on 49 minutes and Bobby Grant
after 63 minutes.
Harrogate
Town and Solihull Moors – two more fancied teams – shared a 2-2 draw at the CNG
Stadium, with Nathan Blissett putting Moors one-up at the break.
Mark
Beck levelled on 55 minutes and then Joe Leesley gave the hosts the lead 3
