The
Nash ran out 5-0 winners with goals from Isaac Sinclair and Luke Wall in the
first half and Sean Miller, Ollie Thornley and Luke Merrill in the second.
Newly
promoted Farsley Celtic and Kettering Town started with opening home wins, but
fellow new boys King`s Lynn Town were beaten 3-0 at Nethermoor Park by Guiseley
AFC.
Farsley
won 3-1 at Throstle Nest against Darlington with goals from Tyler Walton, ex-Quakers
striker Nathan Cartman and James Spencer, with Mark Bell replying on 65
minutes.
A
penalty save by keeper Paul White helped the Poppies seal their return with a
2-1 win over old rivals AFC Telford United at Latimer Park with Joel Carta and
Daniel Nti cancelling out Steph Morley`s first half opener for the Bucks.
Jamie
Spencer bagged a brace to help Guiseley beat King`s Lynn after Aaron Martin`s
opener.
The
switch back from south to north seems to have worked well for Gloucester City
as they blunted Lee Clark`s opening league game in charge of Blyth Spartans by
winning 2-1 at Croft Park.
Joe
Hanks gave the Tigers a first half lead from the penalty spot and Marlon
Jackson doubled their advantage with 10 minutes to go, rendering Damen Mullen`s
83rd minute reply as just a consolation.
Shepherd
Murombedzi scored the only goal 5 minutes from time to give Brackley Town
victory at St James`s Park against Alfreton Town, while York City were the
day`s only other winners, 3-1 at the J.Davidson Stadium against Altrincham.
And
that after trailing to a 12th minute James Jones effort which David
Ferguson levelled just before the break and then Joe Tait and Jordan Burrow
sealed the Minstermen`s win in the second period.
The
other matches were all drawn.
Relegated
Gateshead and Southport shared a goalless encounter at the International
Stadium, while Jordan Slew gave Boston United a 37th minute lead at
the Jakemans Stadium against Chester, for whom George Waring equalised 2
minutes later.
Hereford
FC and Spennymoor Town shared a 2-2 Edgar Street stalemate in which Jordan Nicholson
gave the Bulls a 26th minute lead that Andrew Johnson eventually
cancelled out just past the hour-mark.
Glen
Taylor put the visitors in front on 76 minutes, but 3 minutes later, sub Tom
Owen-Evans popped up with Hereford`s leveller.
Kidderminster
Harriers and Leamington also shared the opening day`s points by the same
scoreline.
Leamington
had the lead late in the first half as Josh March tucked away a penalty.
Harriers
responded just before the hour-mark through Ashley Chambers.
Ed
Williams made it 2-1 to Harriers on 72 minutes, with the visitors reduced to
ten-men late on when Jack Edwards was dismissed.
But
the ten-men equalised 3 minutes from time through Junior English. |
