The Magpies announced the 22-year-old`s signing just ahead of their opening 0-0 draw at home to Bromley, with Massanka making his debut as a 67th minute substitute.

Massanka came through the centre of excellence at Burnley and made the first team bench once at Accrington Stanley in the Carabao Cup.

During his time with the Clarets he spent time out on loan at York City, Morecambe, Wrexham (on two occasions), Dover Athletic and in Belgium with Racing White Daring Molenbeek.

It was because he played abroad that Chorley had to await international clearance before announcing his signing.
