Forward Jason Banton joins from National League returnees Torquay United, having spent last season on loan at now BetVictor Southern League Premier Division South outfit Truro City.

The 27-year-old was an England under-17 international and had a number of clubs as a young player, spending time at Arsenal, Blackburn Rovers, Liverpool and Leicester City, before making his debut in the Football League at Burton Albion in October 2011.

He signed with Crystal Palace in 2012 and was loaned out to Plymouth Argyle and MK Dons before joining Plymouth permanently in January 2014.

He signed with Wycombe Wanderers in June 2015 and spent a brief time on loan at Hartlepool United.

In February 2016 he signed for Notts County until the end of the 2015/16 season, he was released by the Magpies at the end of the season and signed for Crawley Town, subsequently going on loan to Scottish Premiership side Partick Thistle.

At the end of the 2016/17 season Banton was released by Crawley and joined National League side Woking.

In June 2018 he joined Torquay and had loan spells last season at St Albans City and Dulwich Hamlet as well as the White Tigers.

Femi Akinwande joins the Iron from league rivals Concord Rangers.

The 23-year-old striker spent 9 years with the Millwall academy before joining Dartford in 2013.

After having trials for Brentford and Crystal Palace, Akinwande signed for Fisher in January 2015.

He then moved to Maldon & Tiptree for the 2015/16 season, and after 12 goals in 18 appearances, he joined Colchester United's academy on a development contract until the end of the season.

He made his League debut in March 2016 and later joined Bishop's Stortford, made a return to Maldon & Tiptree, and played for East Thurrock United on loan in the 2016/17 season.

He was released by Colchester in May 2017 and returned to East Thurrock before moving on to the Beachboys.

Michael Clark has re-joined Braintree after spending last season at Concord Rangers. The centre half, who will be 22 in September, captained the Leyton Orient youth team during the 2015/16 campaign.

In his first season as a pro, Clark was sent on loan to East Thurrock at the start of the 2016/17 season, making 33 appearances in all competitions and scoring 4 goals.

Clark was recalled from his loan and drafted into the Leyton Orient first team squad in February 2017 and made his debut the same month.

A second loan spell at East Thurrock was announced in December 2017, before Clark agreed to switch to Cressing Road last summer.

Ollie Saunders joins the club from Grimsby Town, where he joined as part of the SkyBet League Two club's 2017 intake of youth players.

At home as either a left back or on the left side of midfield, Saunders is 19 in November and has impressed manager Glen Driver with some assured performances in pre-season.

Adam Mills started his career as a youngster with Needham Market before joining both Maldon & Tiptree and AFC Sudbury.

A mobile wide player, Mills then re-joined the Marketmen two years ago before training with Braintree during pe-season.

The 22-year old winger or striker is another to have impressed Driver with his performances in the friendlies.

Josh Urquhart has joined from league rivals and neighbours Billericay Town, having previously been with Wealdstone, who he left in the summer of 2018.

Urquhart made over 50 appearances for the club and lifted the Essex Senior Cup, Isthmian League Cup and Isthmian League title.

Although he prefers a midfield role, he successfully played in a full back role for much of last season.

The 28-year-old has also played for St Albans City, East Thurrock and Hampton & Richmond Borough.

Emmanuel Folarin has signed for the club from Isthmian League North neighbours Coggeshall Town.

The 27-year old defender has also had spells with Tilbury, Hemel Hempstead Town, Kings Langley and Hayes & Yeading United.

Charley Barker is a 20-year old midfielder who has joined the Iron from Isthmian League Premier Division side Haringey Borough, where he was a regular in the North London's successful side.

Prior to his spell at White Hart Lane, Barker started his career at Leyton Orient before spending time at Cheltenham Town.
