Forward
Jason Banton joins from National League returnees Torquay United, having spent last
season on loan at now BetVictor Southern League Premier Division South outfit
Truro City.
The
27-year-old was an England under-17 international and had a number of clubs as
a young player, spending time at Arsenal, Blackburn Rovers, Liverpool and
Leicester City, before making his debut in the Football League at Burton Albion
in October 2011.
He
signed with Crystal Palace in 2012 and was loaned out to Plymouth Argyle and MK
Dons before joining Plymouth permanently in January 2014.
He
signed with Wycombe Wanderers in June 2015 and spent a brief time on loan at
Hartlepool United.
In
February 2016 he signed for Notts County until the end of the 2015/16 season,
he was released by the Magpies at the end of the season and signed for Crawley
Town, subsequently going on loan to Scottish Premiership side Partick Thistle.
At
the end of the 2016/17 season Banton was released by Crawley and joined
National League side Woking.
In
June 2018 he joined Torquay and had loan spells last season at St Albans City
and Dulwich Hamlet as well as the White Tigers.
Femi
Akinwande joins the Iron from league rivals Concord Rangers.
The
23-year-old striker spent 9 years with the Millwall academy before joining
Dartford in 2013.
After
having trials for Brentford and Crystal Palace, Akinwande signed for Fisher in January
2015.
He
then moved to Maldon & Tiptree for the 2015/16 season, and after 12 goals
in 18 appearances, he joined Colchester United's academy on a development
contract until the end of the season.
He
made his League debut in March 2016 and later joined Bishop's Stortford, made a
return to Maldon & Tiptree, and played for East Thurrock United on loan in
the 2016/17 season.
He
was released by Colchester in May 2017 and returned to East Thurrock before
moving on to the Beachboys.
Michael
Clark has re-joined Braintree after spending last season at Concord Rangers.
The centre half, who will be 22 in September, captained the Leyton Orient youth
team during the 2015/16 campaign.
In
his first season as a pro, Clark was sent on loan to East Thurrock at the start
of the 2016/17 season, making 33 appearances in all competitions and scoring 4
goals.
Clark
was recalled from his loan and drafted into the Leyton Orient first team squad
in February 2017 and made his debut the same month.
A
second loan spell at East Thurrock was announced in December 2017, before Clark
agreed to switch to Cressing Road last summer.
Ollie
Saunders joins the club from Grimsby Town, where he joined as part of the SkyBet
League Two club's 2017 intake of youth players.
At
home as either a left back or on the left side of midfield, Saunders is 19 in
November and has impressed manager Glen Driver with some assured performances
in pre-season.
Adam
Mills started his career as a youngster with Needham Market before joining both
Maldon & Tiptree and AFC Sudbury.
A
mobile wide player, Mills then re-joined the Marketmen two years ago before
training with Braintree during pe-season.
The
22-year old winger or striker is another to have impressed Driver with his
performances in the friendlies.
Josh
Urquhart has joined from league rivals and neighbours Billericay Town, having
previously been with Wealdstone, who he left in the summer of 2018.
Urquhart
made over 50 appearances for the club and lifted the Essex Senior Cup, Isthmian
League Cup and Isthmian League title.
Although
he prefers a midfield role, he successfully played in a full back role for much
of last season.
The
28-year-old has also played for St Albans City, East Thurrock and Hampton &
Richmond Borough.
Emmanuel
Folarin has signed for the club from Isthmian League North neighbours
Coggeshall Town.
The
27-year old defender has also had spells with Tilbury, Hemel Hempstead Town,
Kings Langley and Hayes & Yeading United.
Charley
Barker is a 20-year old midfielder who has joined the Iron from Isthmian League
Premier Division side Haringey Borough, where he was a regular in the North
London's successful side.
Prior
to his spell at White Hart Lane, Barker started his career at Leyton Orient
before spending time at Cheltenham Town.
