Larter`s
decision comes after a 2-1 opening day defeat at home to Ely City and then a
crushing 8-0 defeat at promotion fancies Norwich United on Tuesday night.
Larter
first came to Gorleston to help out with the under-18s back in 2010 before being
promoted to the first team in 2011/12, initially as coach but then stepped up
to assistant-manager in September 2011.
In
November 2011 stepped up to become joint-manager and then became sole manager
in October 2012.
He
left in May 2014 with eight of the squad after winning the Norfolk Senior Cup
by beating Wroxham to manage the latter at a higher level.
He
returned as Greens manager in October 2017.
In
a tweet, Larter said: "Having reflected on Tuesday's night performance and
my position at Gorleston I have decided to step down as first team manager. I
would like to thank Matty Potter who has supported me during my time and has
been so professional in very difficult circumstances for us both."
Larter
took charge of 168 matches in his two spells with the Greens. |
