Defender Stow played in a big part in the village side’s play-off winning campaign last season as their captain and also scored a number of great free-kicks.

He numbers Thatcham Town, Hungerford Town and Gosport Borough amongst his other former clubs.

Hartley Wintney`s joint-manager Anthony Millerick was full of praise for the player: "Stowie has been a huge player for us over the last two campaigns, and as captain we'll never forget what he helped us achieve last season. I'm sure the supporters here will always give Dean a warm welcome.

“With a few familiar faces having now crossed over to our friends at the Camrose, our league meetings next season will have a special significance."

Basingstoke have also re-signed combative midfielder and captain from last season, Charlie Kennedy.

Kennedy was an integral part of the squad last season, his combative performances in the centre of midfield won him plenty of fans at the Camrose over the last two years.

He took over the captaincy after the departure of Marcus Johnson-Schuster until a knee injury ended his season prematurely.
