Wrexham`s
Mark Harris scored the only goal at the Racecourse Ground 11 minutes from time
to inflict the first defeat on the Shaymen.
Solihull
Moors moved to the top of the fledgling table after an emphatic 6-1 win at Victory
Park against newly promoted Chorley, who had drawn their opening three games.
But
fancied Moors took a stranglehold on proceedings, especially in the second half,
after they led 2-0 at the break with goals from Paul McCallum after 14 minutes
and Nathan Blissett just before half-time.
Blissett
went on to complete his hat-trick with goals in the 51st and 57th
minutes, McCallum bagged his second on 64 minutes and sub Danny Wright added a
late sixth, with Alex Newby scoring the Magpies consolation in the 54th
minute.
There
are now only four teams yet to lose in 2019/20, Bromley, AFC Fylde and Sutton
United joining Solihull in yet to suffer defeat.
Bromley
won 1-0 at the EBB Stadium against Aldershot Town, courtesy of a Jack Holland
effort on the half-hour mark, while the Coasters shared a 2-2 draw at The
Northern Gas and Power Stadium against Hartlepool United, who led 2-0 with a brace
for Gime Toure in the 3rd and 59th minutes.
But
the visitors fought back with Matty Kosylo on 79 minutes and Ryan Croasdale 3
minutes later.
Sutton
also drew – 1-1 at the Silverlake Stadium against Eastleigh.
Both
goals came within a minute, with Rob Atkinson putting the Spitfires ahead after
13 minutes and Jamie Collins immediately levelling.
In
contrast, Ebbsfleet United are still point-less after four games after going
down to a 3-1 defeat at Stonebridge Road to relegated Yeovil Town.
Rhys
Murphy`s 27th opener gave the Glovers a half-time lead that sub Remeao
Hutton doubled 3 minutes after the break.
Aswad
Thomas reduced the deficit in the 82nd minutes, but less than a
minute later, Tom Whelan restored the visitors` two-goal cushion.
Notts
County, who were relegated alongside Yeovil, promoted Stockport County and Boreham
Wood all got off the mark with first wins of the new season on Tuesday night.
The
Magpies were 2-0 winners at the CNG Stadium against a Harrogate Town side who
did so well last season but are taking time to get going this term.
Kristian
Dennis right on half-time and Enzio Boldewijn 3 minutes from time were the
scorers for Neil Ardley`s men.
Stockport
edged out Barrow AFC by the odd goal in five at Edgeley Park, coming back from
being a 4th minute Scott Quigley goal down to win.
Frank
Mulhern eventually levelled 3 minutes after the break and Jordan Keane put the
home side in front 3 minutes after that.
John
Rooney equalised on 67 minutes, but sub Jake Kirby sealed the Hatters win in
the 71st minute.
Dagenham
& Redbridge suffered a third defeat in four, going down 3-0 at the Chigwell
Construction Stadium to Boreham Wood, for whom Kabongo Tshimanga scored twice in
the 18th and then 86th minutes, with sub Justin Shaibu
rounding things off 2 minutes later.
Maidenhead
United made their lengthy midweek trip to promoted Torquay United worthwhile
with a 2-0 win at Plainmoor, courtesy of a 31st minute Josh Kelly
effort and a stoppage time second from sub Shamir Fenelon.
A
goal 3 minutes into stoppage time from Inih Effiong earned Dover Athletic a
third win at Barnet`s The Hive, while Chesterfield joined Ebbsfleet and Chorley
in still looking for their first win after going down to a 2-1 defeat at the
Proact Stadium to promoted Woking, who made it three wins from four, thanks to
Ibrahim Meite after 53 minutes and Dave Tarpey just past the hour-mark – Scott Boden
netting an 87th minute consolation. |
