Ironton has re-signed popular striker Eusebio Da Silva after the big target man enjoyed a good second half to last season with the Citizens, having joined from then-Isthmian League North now South Central side Barking.

Having played football since the age of 9, he was scouted by Sporting Clube de Portugal and Victoria de Setubal in Portugal.

Alongside his football skills, he is an accomplished athlete specialising in long jump and sprinting.

He came second in the Under-23s England Athletics Championships and European trials and achieved silver and bronze medals at the British Universities Championships and fifth in Loughborough International meeting.

An additional midfielder has been added in the form of Charlie Payne, son of former Watford, Barnet and Peterborough midfielder Derek Payne.

The left-sided player joins from Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division side Baldock Town.

Originally with Chesham United, he has also had experience at Hatfield Town, Hitchin Town and Barton Rovers.

The third newcomer to Herns Lane is winger Jean-Paul Antwi.

Antwi was recruited by Ironton after impressing in Welwyn’s fine display against a full-strength MK Dons line-up in pre-season, which resulted in a 1-0 victory for the newly promoted League One side.

He was with Spartan South Midlands League Division One outfit Enfield Borough and Isthmian South Central side Uxbridge last season.

He was formerly with Wealdstone, Northwood and Hayes & Yeading United.
