....players by recruiting former Sheffield Wednesday and Worksop Town defender Alfie Smith from NCEL Premier Division side Handsworth Parramore.

Smith made his debut for Worksop as a substitute in the Tigers` League Cup semi-final win at Hemsworth Miners Welfare back in April after an impressive under-21 and under-19 career at Sandy Lane and signed for the Ambers in the summer.

Swallownest manager Jordan Stocks is clearly happy to have the youngster on board at Rotherham Road, telling the club`s website: "Alfie is another good young hungry player who not only wants to succeed and play as high as possible can but he is everything we are; hard working and honest," Jordan told us.

"For a young lad he shows maturity and the leadership skills he will have gained at Wednesday and Worksop under-21’s".
