Palmer made 88 appearances over several seasons for the Royals at both Step 3 and 4.

He lists Rugby Town, Castle Vale, Cadbury Athletic, Alvechurch, Kettering Town and Hednesford Town amongst his other former clubs.

Manager Neil Tooth told https://www.sctfc.com: “I’m gutted Palms has decided to move on but I fully understand and respect his decision. Over my time at the club I can’t think of a more committed player. Palms never missed a session always gave his all and he was also a fantastic character in the dressing room. Palms became a bit of a cult hero with our supporters and I know he loved his time here and I’m sure we will see him back here very soon for a beer.”

Better news for Tooth came when he earlier revealed a couple of new arrivals.

Striker Edwin Ahenkorah (pictured) joins the Royals having gained plenty of experience higher up the non-League Pyramid with Redditch United, Stratford Town and Rushall Olympic after starting his career with Birmingham City.

Kai Knight is a defender who has signed on a month`s loan from SkyBet Championship side Birmingham City.

Birmingham-born, he joined his home club in 2018, having previously been with West Bromwich Albion.
