Crane
was a key member of the Greenbacks promotion-winning team two seasons ago and
last season reached the play-off semi-finals again with Alvechurch.
Crane’s
experience will only help the squad and coming fresh from being player/assistant-manager
at Gresley FC – an indeed was part of the Moatmen`s caretaker-management team
last week - will be competition for the club`s other keeper Adam Harrison, but
will also be a good mentor and now the club have two excellent goalkeepers.
Crane
started his career at West Bromwich Albion before moving on at 19 to find first
team football.
He
played for two years at Burton Albion under Nigel Clough, which then earned him
a move back to the Football League with now defunct Rushden & Diamonds.
At
23, Crane started to forge a career in non-League football, playing for clubs
such as Hednesford Town, Solihull Moors and Brackley Town.
He
made 350 appearances at Hednesford being involved in four play-off campaigns,
going on to win promotion with Bedworth and last season played a key role in
helping Alvechurch reach the play-off final.
