Rowland will be assisted by Joe Keith.

Rowland, who turned out for AFC Bournemouth, Coventry City, West Ham United, Queens Park Rangers, Luton Town, Chesterfield and Barnet and enjoyed stints in non-League at Hornchurch, Redbridge and Welling United, helped Aveley win promotion into the Isthmian League's top flight alongside Rod Stringer before following him to Braintree Town in 2010 as first team coach.

After leaving the then-National League club in May 2011 he returned in June 2011 as assistant-manager to Alan Devonshire before leaving in the summer of 2015.

In January 2016 the 19-times capped Northern Ireland international was appointed manager of Isthmian Premier side Wingate & Finchley.

The 47-year-old departed Wingate in October 2018.

Joining Rowland as his assistant is former midfielder, Joe Keith, who started his playing career at West Ham, coming runners-up in the FA Youth Cup in 1995/96.

He joined Colchester United in 1999 and went on to score 28 goals in 247 league and cup appearance for the club in six seasons. He joined Bristol City on a brief loan spell but then spent two years with Leyton Orient playing 53 times.

He signed for Brentford in January 2007 on a five-month contract and played 18 games, scoring twice, before being released in May 2007.

After being released by Brentford, he dropped into non-League football, joining Hornchurch and Tilbury where, in 2009/10 season he took a player-coach role.

After a spell as a coach with East Thurrock United he joined local rivals Canvey Island as assistant-manager in February 2016.

He then returned to Tilbury, this time as manger, but left after 13 months in charge.
