.....Rob Wilson from Workington AFC, midfielder Charlie Russell from Clitheroe and Craig Stanley from Barwell.
Wilson is no stranger to the Dolly Blues as he was once a part of the set up at Giant Axe.
Other than Lancaster City, Wilson played for Workington AFC, AFC Fylde, Kendal Town and recently, American side, Cincinnati Dutch Lions.
Wilson, a midfielder, was ever-present for Workington last season, making 40 appearances, scoring 4 goals and notching 2 assists.
With the 2017/18 season over, Wilson joined American club Cincinnati Dutch Lions of the PDL.
Manager Phil Brown was ‘chuffed’ to land Wilson, telling the club`s website: “I am delighted to have signed Rob. He is a quality player and will do well for us. Rob is a well-balanced central midfielder, he’s comfortable on the ball and he competes well off it. I’ve watched him play quite a few times over several seasons and he’s always been impressive. I’m chuffed we have got the deal over the line and I can’t wait to see him back in a dolly blue shirt!”
Russell, a midfielder, is an ex-Lancaster player who originally joined in late 2015 before moving to Clitheroe in the end of 2016.
Brown said: “Once I knew Charlie was interested in returning I was keen to make it happen. Charlie has many attributes but the one thing that stands out is his desire to succeed. He displays an attitude that’s infectious and he will be a great addition to the midfield unit. He’ll fit right into what we want to be this season. He’s technically good and has excellent awareness. He matches those skills with a real will to be the best.”
Stanley is a centre-back with loads of experience and know-how which impressed the management team.
He captained Barwell and was honoured by the club and supporters winning player and supporters` player of the year last season.
Stanley began his career with Walsall. He moved around before signing for Hereford United in 2004 and played a big part in their promotion back to the Football League in the 2005/06 season.
He then moved to Morecambe in 2006 where he made 174 appearances in five seasons and also helped them reach the Football League.
Stanley went on to have spells with Bristol Rovers, Aldershot Town, Eastleigh, Lincoln City and Barwell before moving to the Giant Axe.
Brown was delighted to welcome the defender, who also has four England C caps: “I’m very happy to have secured the services of Craig. He will be a very valuable player for us this season. He’s an excellent footballer who has a wealth of experience and to coin a phrase ‘he’s as fit as a butchers dog’!
“He really impressed me last year when he played against us at centre back for Barwell. He has dropped back into that position and looks really comfortable.
“Craig’s performance as a centre back was consistent of a high level, something that was recognised by their players and supporters as he won both player and supporters player of the year awards. After all his years in the game, he’s as hungry as ever. The meetings I’ve had with Craig have shown to me how much of a winner he is. Primarily he will focus on playing, however, Craig will also have a coaching input, therefore, I see him performing the player/coach role. It’s another great signing for us!”
