FC Halifax Town`s 3-2 win at Chesterfield saw them take over at the top of the table following Woking`s home draw with the team who came back up with them at the end of the 2018/19 season, Torquay United.

At The Proact Stadium, the Shaymen raced into a 3-0 lead with goals from Jamie Allen after 9 minutes, Nathan Clarke in the 33rd and Cameron King 2 minutes after the break.

Mike Fondop scored his 5th goal of the season to date to reduce the deficit 4 minutes later but Joe Rowley`s second didn`t arrive until 2 minutes from time.

Former Maidenhead United favourite Dave Tarpey gave Woking the lead 7 minutes into the second half at The Laithwaite Community Stadium.

But Torquay equalised in the 78th minute when new signing Ben Whitfield headed home at the far post.

Chesterfield`s defeat to FC Halifax and Chorley`s 2-0 loss at the CNG Stadium against Harrogate Town leaves them still looking for a first win of the new campaign.

Brendan Kiernan gave Town a great start with a goal inside the opening 4 minutes.

Jack Muldoon doubled their advantage 3 minutes into time added on at the end of the game.

Ebbsfleet United picked up their fifth point to date after holding Dover Athletic to a 1-1 Crabble draw in which Ayo Obileye gave them a 12th minute lead that Will de Havilland cancelled out 9 minutes into the second period.

Notts County and Solihull Moors shared a 0-0 draw at Meadow Lane, while a 69th minute Tom Bradbury effort sealed a 1-0 win for the team who were relegated alongside County, Yeovil Town, at Huish Park against Sutton United.

Promoted Stockport County maintained their descent start to the season with a 2-1 Edgeley Park victory over last season`s Promotion Final losers AFC Fylde.

Alex Jackson gave the hosts a 19th minute lead that a James Craigen own goal doubled just 3 minutes later.

Jordan Williams reduced the arrears just past the hour-mark, but the Coasters couldn`t find a leveller.

Maidenhead United have also made a good start to 2019/20 and returned from their lengthy midweek trip to North Wales with a point from a 2-2 draw with Wrexham.

A Luke Young own goal put the Magpies in front after 22 minutes.

Wrexham levelled 6 minutes before half-time through Jason Oswell and then Young scored at the right end to put the hosts in front after 62 minutes.

However, Josh Smile restored parity less than 3 minutes later and the game finished all-square.

Eastleigh picked up their third win with a 2-0 Silverlake Stadium success against Boreham Wood.

The home side struck early in both halves as Ben Williamson put them ahead after 7 minutes with a smart finish, before Danny Hollands headed a second 9 minutes after half-time.

Hartlepool United moved into eighth place in the table with a 1-0 win at the Furness Building Society Stadium against Barrow AFC.

Ryan Donaldson proved to be the Pools hero with the only goal in the 71st minute.
