Worksop Do a U-Turn on Patterson

BetVictor Northern Premier League Division One South East club Worksop Town have done a U-turn and re-signed former skipper Danny Patterson - just weeks after his departure from the club.

The 34-year-old was released on the eve of the league campaign having apparently refused to come as a substitute in an Emirates FA Cup defeat to Uhlsport United Counties League Division Onje minnows Melton Town.

The experienced midfielder signed for Worksop in July 2018 having captained Maltby Main to an impressive fifth place finish in the Toolstation Northern Counties East Premier in 2017/18.

He then helped the Tigers to win the division in 2018/19 and promotion back to the NPL.

He numbers Frickley Athletic, Ossett Town, Shaw Lane AFC, Handsworth Parramore, Sheffield FC and AFC Mansfield amongst his other former clubs.
