The
Suffolk outfit have added Quevin Castro, George Forrest and Ollie Saunders to
their squad.
Former
Thetford Town midfielder Castro, who left the club this summer having played 40
games in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division last season, was looking to
win himself a deal with SkyBet League One side Ipswich Town.
Castro,
who turned 18 last month, made a good impression whilst with the Tractor Boys
but wasn`t offered a deal.
Castro,
who is the brother of the Thurlow Nunn's top goalscorer last season at
Thetford, Valter Rocha, had been doing pre-season at Vanarama National League
club Sutton United before been picked up by Ipswich.
Having
started out as a youngster in Sporting Lisbon's academy, the Portuguese-born
player broke into Thetford's first team last summer aged 16 before going on to
be a regular.
Castro
was part of the Thetford team who reached the Norfolk Senior Cup final at
Norwich City's Carrow Road last season, and along with brother Rocha, played a
starring role as they narrowly lost to Isthmian League North side Dereham Town
in May's final.
Defender
George Forrest (pictured) joins Leiston on a month's loan from League Two side Crawley
Town.
Forrest
joined Crawley in July having previously played at non-League level for several
clubs including Hornchurch, Romford, Maldon & Tiptree, Ebbsfleet United and
Aylesbury.
He
signed a two-year contract in July 2019, having trained with the squad since
the start of the year.
Saunders,
18, is a defender or midfielder who joins on dual registration with National
League South club Braintree Town, who he signed for last month from Grimsby
Town, where he joined as part of the League Two club's 2017 intake of youth
players.
He
is at home as either a left back or on the left side of midfield.
All
three linked up with the Suffolk-based club in time to start in Saturday's
Emirates FA Cup First Qualifying Round shock defeat against Ware. |
