Kendal Town won their first game in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One West since November 17th on Saturday, winning 4-2 at Market Drayton Town.

And the Mintcakes had no less than ELEVEN debutants in their successful line-up at the Greenfields Sports Ground.

New boss Steve Edmondson and his assistant Craig Dootson have been extremely busy in recent days re-building their squad.

Elliot Cooke joins from NPL Premier Division side Stalybridge Celtic.

The young midfielder progressed through Celtic`s reserve side and made 8 first-team appearances this season, including three starts.

Sope Awe, a tall, athletic youngster who can play in midfield or up front, joins having spent this season with Vanarama National League North leaders Chorley's under-21 squad.

Centre-back or left-back Brandon Lee is also on board from Chorley, where he was also a member of the development squad.

He joined the Magpies in September 2018 having previously been with Blackburn Rovers and Bolton Wanderers.

He is the son of former Bolton winger David Lee.

Also joining is midfielder Ryan Moore, who was formerly with National League high-flyers AFC Fylde where he came up through the youth ranks and represented Lancashire under-18s.

Goalkeeper Joao Mendis joins having recently been released by another National League North outfit, Ashton United.

Centre-back Tom Stead joins on loan from SkyBet Championship side Preston North End.

Stead came through Preston`s academy and has worked his way back from injury after finishing his scholarship with the club.

The central defender came through the youth system and started a two-year scholarship in the summer of 2016.

However, a serious knee injury meant that he was unable to play a large part for the youth team in the latter part of his second year.

He stepped up to the first-team in the summer of 2018, given a one-year contract, and began the season working with the physio team as he battles back from the injury that has kept him out.

Other new faces included former Milnthorpe Corinthians defender Perry Duggan, ex-Workington AFC and Ambleside United defender Cory Vickers, who is back at Kendal for a second spell, midfielder Callum Fawcett from National League Barrow AFC`s under-21s.

Aaron Halliwell is another to return to Parkside after being at Longridge Town, Daniel Towers has been with West Lancs League sides Galgate and Milnthorpe Corinthians, striker Kyle Delves with Vickerstown and Furness Cavaliers and Marcello Ceraldi with North Lancs League side TIC Dynamos of Overton.

Edmondson said he and Dootson had contacts at Vanarama National League promotion hopefuls Salford City.

The Ammies have a large squad of quality players and Edmondson said he was hopeful one or two of their under-21 squad could be tempted to Kendal for a loan spell.
