Hopkinson Quits Player-Manager Role
Following Tuesday night’s away defeat to Langney Wanderers, manager Arron Hopkinson has resigned as player-manager of Southern Combination League Premier Division club Eastbourne United AFC.

Hopkinson took over from Ryan Cooper just before Christmas, with the club on just one point and staring down the barrel of relegation.

Despite it being his first managerial role, Hopkinson never panicked and on the last day of the season managed to pull off the miracle that saw United stay up against all the odds.

For this, and for his tireless energy and unremitting work, the club have thanked him, and he leaves looking to carry on playing, safe in the knowledge that he has secured his own place in United folklore.

Assistant-manager Matt Crabb will take temporary charge while the search for a replacement takes place.

And applications are invited by email to the committee via the secretary@eastbourneunitedafc.com.

Applications will close at midnight on Wednesday, 18th September 2019
