The
35-year-old joined Boro in June following his release by SkyBet League One
neighbours Coventry City.
Having
played over 300 matches in the Football League, he has a wealth of experience.
The
Reading-born forward came up through non-League football with Ardley United,
AFC Wallingford, Didcot Town and Weymouth.
He
scored 24 league goals for the Terras in just 86 appearances, earning him a
move to Wycombe Wanderers.
In
five seasons at Adams Park, he made 125 appearances, finding the back of the
net 34 times.
Further
Football League spells followed with Preston and Burton Albion before a move to
Coventry in January 2017.
He
scored on his debut for the Sky Blues and it was his semi-final goal that sent
Coventry to Wembley for the 2017 EFL Trophy final.
With
first-team opportunities limited at the Ricoh Arena, he spent the entirety of
the 2018/19 season on loan to Wrexham, making 39 appearances in the National
League as the Reds finished fourth, losing in the play-off quarter finals.
Mickleover
player-manager John McGrath will be hoping Beavon’s talent and experience will
help bolster the Sports attack. |
