The
28-year-old defender has recently been with National League South side Billericay
Town.
Gunning
signed for Billericay in July after being released by SktBet League Two side
Forest Green Rovers at the end of his contract in May 2019 with his last
appearance coming against Tranmere Rovers in the play-off semi-final first leg
where he was sent-off in the first half.
The
Dublin-born centre-back played 67 times during an 18-month spell with Rovers,
scoring twice.
After
starting out with Crumlin United in his homeland, he moved to England with
Blackburn Rovers in February 2006.
He
had loan spells with Tranmere Rovers, Rotherham United, Bury and Motherwell
before being released by Rovers without making a senior appearance at the end
of the 2010/11 season.
He
signed for Dundee United in July 2011 and went on to make 83 appearances and
was named on the PFA Scotland team of the year for 2011/12.
He
left for Birmingham City in 2014 and had a brief spell with Oldham Athletic
before re-joining Dundee United in October 2015.
Spells
with Greenock Morton, Grimsby Town and Port Vale followed before he joined
Forest Green. |
