Brian Henney, chairman of Total Motion Midland League Division One club Atherstone Town Community FC, gas relunctantly accepted the resignation of first team manager Ivor Green.

Green has been a fantastic manager and ambassador and played an integral part in taking the club to where it is today.

 

He guided the team to three cup triumphs, last season’s fantastic run in the Emirates FA.Cup and three great league campaigns.

 

He leaves the club in a place it could only have dreamed of when he took over for his second spell in charge.

 

The club have appointed Joe Obi as interim manager while the search for a full-time replacement is undertaken.

 

Atherstone United are now inviting applications for the vacant position of first team manager.

All applications will be treated in the strictest confidence.

 

Closing date for applications will be Sunday 6th October.
