The
28-year-old former England C international has almost 200 League appearances to
his name and has also played in the National League with Woking and Eastleigh.
He
was captain of West Ham United’s under-18 team and made two Premier League
appearances for the Hammers, while also playing at Cheltenham Town, Colchester
United and Wycombe Wanderers on loan.
He
moved on to Doncaster Rovers and then Oxford United where he stayed for two
years, playing for Aldershot Town on loan before a permanent move to the Shots
in 2012.
Garry
Hill signed him for Woking in 2013 and after two top 10 finishes with the
Cards, he achieved the same with Eastleigh in 2015/16, playing alongside
ex-Fleet midfielders Luke Coulson and Andy Drury.
Crawley
gave Payne another attempt at the Football League in the summer of 2016 and he
has been a regular in League Two at the Broadfield Stadium over the past three
seasons, amassing almost 100 games for the Red Devils.
