The 27-year-old joined the Reds in July from Chorley, where he was the longest-serving member of the squad after clocking up 364 appearances, scoring 69 goals.

Despite helping the Magpies win promotion as National League North play-off winners 2018/19, he decided to remain in that division by joining Alfreton.

He is an elegant midfielder with good technical ability and range of passing.

He started out at Manchester United as a youngster and also had spells with Maine Road and Leigh Genesis.

Meanwhile, midfielder Aaron Chalmers has now signed for the Bucks on a permanent basis after an initial loan period from league rivals Ashton United.

The 28-year-old began his career in the youth teams of Bolton Wanderers and Oldham Athletic.

Since then he has had a journeyman career, playing for several non-League teams, including Mossley AFC, Droylsden, Stockport County, Southport, New Mills, Curzon Ashton and Stalybridge Celtic.

He joined Ashton United in July 2017 and was part of the 2013/14 team who reached the Northern Premier play-off final but lost on penalties against AFC Fylde.

Also joining the Silverlands outfit is attacking midfielder Warren Clarke, who was released by SkyBet Championship side Sheffield Wednesday in the summer.

Clarke joined the Owls as a 12-year-old and progressed to sign professional terms after starring for the under-18s.

He was a regular in the under-23 side before being one of seven youngsters released by Wednesday at the end of last season.
